I've noticed that in the achievements window some of the achievements I appear to have completed (have the bright boarder around it and full progress bar) are not moved to the top of the list with other completed achievements. Also, the achievements which are not moved to the top also don't have their corresponding favor points awarded. This appears to be happening on both my offline and online achievement lists. Also, it appears some of the online achievements arent even
It may be that you are getting points from achievements. Did you unlock any achievements during the progress of those games? Also note that I believe favor points are shared between Pantheon, Skirmish, and Custom Games, but I'm not 100% certain since it's been changed around a few times.
Ah, this could well be the case, though it does raise another issue. Once I log in and check my achievements there appear to be many I've earned that
There is a chat feature in the game because communication is necessary for a well coordinated team. There's nothing wrong with politely requesting players ask before buying priests. It's not 'telling your teammates how to play' its communicating and coordinating.
Poorly balanced? No, it's part of the strategy in this game. Knowing which upgrades to make at the right time to benifit your team in their current situation. Learning not to summon Priests too soon is something people learn, or something team mates learn to work with when someone does. More to the point, this isn't a BUG, and shouldn't have had such a childish and demanding "Fix" thread name. Stop teaching people to consider everything they d
More specifically, are you talking about games in offline skirmishes or tournaments? It's well known that on Hard and Nightmare tournaments especially your own team made is deliberately at a significant disadvantage to the computers AI and the feeding is way, way worse there.
I am saying that all forums I've been on developers will stop reading them if the signal to noise ratio gets beyond a certain threshold. That's all. I can't speak for GPG other than saying I am in constant contact with them. Right now, they're focusing on finishing of v1.1 and the demo. We are discussing the additional demigods with them on a daily basis as well.
The Demigod community is still in infancy, and it may
Playing with 2(human)v3 AI should be easier, as you can make sure you dont feed them whereas the AI doesn't put quite as much effort into that. I'd like to see a softer curve between tournament Normal and Hard. Normal is an absolute walk in the park but on Hard where the computer supercharges relatively early agianst your devastatingly stupid AI team mates.... That's not challenging, its annoying. Especially on some of the game modes where you have to one man army the enti
I agree the custom map type interface would solve a lot of these player-preference-mismatches. Its more or less what I was trying to express in the OP =) A custom game interface that the system slots you into, or you can find one that appropriately matches you from a list of games that might be up. I agree that being able to talk would definitely build more of a sense of community, absolutely. And people being able to leave before they ruin a commited game, is a good thing for bot
It's not, people here have gotten themselves into a nasty habit.
Agree with twifightDG, I had a temporary problem where after changing the Hamachi settings to get DG to work over hamachi with some mates, I could no longer play any LAN games with my flatmate. Uninstalling hamachi and rebooting let us see each other again no problem, it's worth giving a shot.
I can't afford another one yet :( Technically theres nothing defective with the drive, a whole first wave of SSD's had the same issues, it was just a poor controller. The OCZ core, and core2 series have the problem but their later drives all have a new controller and propper cache. Id love a newer one, especially one of the intel drives. Perhaps in a couple of months when win7 comes out!
Ignore the posts that are simply "DG iz ded", looks to be a phase at the moment on this forum. The sales tell the real story. I've got to admit I have had some of the issues Shadow has mentioned. There also seem to be rare odd occurances where clicking wide open spaces does not initiate a response at all from the DG. Both me and a friend have experienced the same thing at one point or another. I can think of twice tonight on Mandala that I had to click for a go
There are online skirmish games, that is what I was referring to, not offline skirmish. And not matter? One of the biggest problems with pantheon at the moment is apparently people dropping out when they see who they're up against, or dont like the look of the lineup. This would take care of that particular problem as people would know before the game is commited.
So I made a post in someone elses thread touching on this subject but thought I'd get others opinions on the matter. Currently the online game types are split up into Custom games, Skirmish and Pantheon, with Skirmish and Pantheon games invisible to other players in the community. By invisible I mean noone can see how many there are going on or how many people are waiting in lines. Whilst this may not matter to some people since theyre supposed to be matched anyway, I p
I wish the pantheon/skirmish online games were more visible. We don't really know how many people are currently playing, or how long it may take for a game. Perhaps if the Pantheon games were visisble in a list similar to the custom games list, with ratings shown on the screen so people can find players in the same bracket as themselves, and/or choose to take on someone harder/significantly worse if theres nothing else around (subject to both parties agreeing). Getting the
Interesting possibilities. With that many options though, perhaps cost could become an issue. For instance, you may need to make the whole tree for that creature type a similar price all together as buying the creature up front currently is, to encourage people to actually use all these options instead of getting more bang for buck from personal items.
It definitely creates possibilities for interesting mechanics. Most obviously; draw units/DG's towards you and keep them there for a (very) short time. Push DG's units away from you (strategicly, futher towards your towers or fortresses).
Very interesting idea. I personally love it, and it's something they could consider for a future patch. As ZehDon said, I dont think the game needs XP neutral creeps, since the grunts already more or less fulfill that role.
As others have said, the option is there, but it takes away from the game when multiplayer (has its uses in single player imo). The only thing I think could be a tad faster (and I mean... a TAD) is the hero moving speed. Not affecting any other element of the game whatsoever, but say if all heroes were naturally 5-10% faster whilst leaving the other elements of the game alone. But I don't even really feel the need for that either, as its only an issue early game.&
How do your minions get too far away from you? Once you get used to using O, N and M it becomes a lot simpler and second nature to keep your minions attacking the same thing as you and grouping up. I'm sure you already use these, but the more you use it the simpler it becomes. More to the point, the features for doing these things are already in the game, waiting to be used.
Well... For starters they have already stated theyre going to work on Pantheon, clan functionality IS coming, I believe the replay system is coming also, as is mod support... You've basically summed up the same complaints that have been said before, and have already been addressed by SD here on these forums, and added nothing new. No the game isn't dead, and everything you mentioned is on its way. You may consider the game unfinished, but I think what they have
I always see these Steam vs. Impulse threads, for instance, where people don't realize that we play each others games. Someone buying Leage of Legends isn't a lost sale. Heck, I'd love to see League of Legends on Impulse. Or have it support the Impulse MP listing so I could pick and choose which games to join in the Impulse MP list. I think I have a pretty good handle on what Demigod needs to stay rele
Maxxy, I think everyone here would love to see SD/GPG prove you wrong. Demigod is just awesome, but it is half the game it could/should be (I am not complaining, I am quite patient as long as the content -does- come). The amount of people who have commented on the need for more DG's or arenas speaks for itself, however the LoL people seem hungry to do more and more, whilst SD/GPG make it feel like they consider it a chore. At the end of the day, the competition may make
Well I agree some people may be transiently playing this game till LoL comes out, but I think it may take more of the DotA base than Demigods. The aesthetic of that game, and simple hero builds is more akin to DotA than Demigod. I definitely would like to see GPG/SD take the issue of content a bit more seriously. Whilst our DG's may be more complicated than LoL's or DotA's, the percieved lack of content in DG will only be further exaggerated by LoL's massive lineup prepared for
Well not every class has the ability to perform these functions unless you based it on say items etc also (which even then, may not be in the players[and teams] best interest anyway), whereas the current ones at least cover all bases nicely. I don't really think we need another award. Support classes still have a perfectly fair chance at having a high number of assists, which most of us are aware is just as important in the scheme of things as the killing blows.
