As far as getting your scores removed, I'd suggest an email to stardock detailing how you got em, and stuff and see what they can do? All they can say is no. So you're no worse off than you are now.
Would this email be directed to anywhere particular in Stardock or just general tech support?
You should share this with everyone!
I hope to. However, I don't have any webspace. Do you suppose this is the sort of thing for the library? Or will I need to find somewhere/someone to host it?
Silly mistake on my part. Now corrected.
Hmm. I forgot to mention that this should require Excel 97 or something compatible. I hope that won't be a problem.
This was actually was quite easy with my new score calculation spreadsheet. With most of Ray's scores already there, it probably took less than 2 minutes. I think the spreadsheet is just about ready for general use though I'd like to see someone test it first to see if it makes sense to anyone other than me. Any victims...er volunteers? :)
Alright Kit, tell me now.How many 25k games does it take for me to reach 200k?

Kit, if you are going to take up the challenge of computing my targets for 200k, assume that I submit a 25k game every 3 days from my last submission.I know I'm a sucker for punishment.
The real sucker for punishment is the moron who actually works this out... ;p List score breaks 200k September 6 with 205059 Player page score breaks 200k September 1
Seems like recalc will increase your score, IceMole. Does it basically reward active players and penalises dormant ones?
The effect is completely dependent on the pattern of submission dates and scores. However, in general, on average, score potential should increase for 15 days after the most recent submission, then sink for 15 days leaving the score much lower at 30 days post submission. Of course, with so many potential score patterns, the max can occur almost
Nastavnik has a low ID - 581. Let's see if he gets a recalc. Current scores 4483/4462.2
Nastavnik has been recalculated. Well, I can say with certainty that IceMole, ID 1553, has not been recalculated. My list score will be 64073 with a 13th calc, 64312 with a 14th calc, or 64671 with a 15th calc.
I've just noticed that the low ranking player with current degradation as well as Nidaros and Matthew Gardener have very low ID numbers.

That's weird, he shouldn't have passed the 4 mth mark yet.
What I am thinking is that there is a metaverse-wide recalc going on right now with processing in order of ID number. I am now looking at TJL1, rank 20, ID 119, most recent submission on 8/8, but calculation has to be 8/11 or 8/12.
What we could do now to confirm is to look for a player like Andrew who has stopped playing 4 months ago and see if his scores get auto-recalced when he crosses this boundary.
I've taken a look at 6 players with most recent scores before the metaverse-wide recalc. 5 of them look like June 8 calculation while the 6th has degradation to this month.
IceMole, try if you can get Nidaros (Emperor of Imperia Galactica) Link to map exactly to 4 months.
<br
Before Staffa and I took over the "Most Rank Dog" spot, I could remember two others who were there for some time. They were Norin from Imperia Galactica and Andrew Chai an independent. Both have stopped playing for quite a while.Andrew is now at rank 1237 with 2733 score and Norin is now at rank 740 with 8155 score. Can you do a check on their scores to see if they have degraded or have they just remained at the score where they stopped playing? That's possible to tell, right?

I'm wondering IceMole. If a person stops submitting and leaves the game, shouldn't his scores degrade somehow rather than maintain at that level?
I'm not sure what you mean here, Ray. If you mean is this how the system seems to work, then no. I've seen players whose scores have not been degraded since the big recalculation in early May. If you mean should Stardock be using a more active method to degrade scores, it depends on what they want to achieve with s
You are the expert on the Metaverse computations, IceMole. But I could have sworn I've seen some scores get reduced even though that person did not submit a game.
Well, I can't think of any likely reasons for this to be happening given what I've observed in the metaverse. Of course it is quite possible there more calculation rules I have not come across yet. I'd be interested to look into it if you see any more scores exhibiting this behavior.
Probably a dormant player got aged down.
Dormant players do not get aged down. Scores only degrade durning calculation, and that only happens when a game is submitted, when a player's scores are converted to a new Drengin.net account, or during a metaverse-wide recalculation which, as far as I know, has only happen once.
And what is with this business about the 'month scoring block', or however it is described? For example, my 3rd last game was on 20/7/03. Then I next submitted one on 8/8/03, and it seemed to up my score by the total score of the game! Next I did a gigantic map (which I really enjoyed up to the midgame when I knew I had won) and my score hardly went up at all.
Here is another way of looking at the scoring calculation. Killa Score 7/20: Block 0-30 Days:<
They should appear instantly if they are successfully recieved.
137 to be exact. Still, it's better than nothing.
#63 by Citizen Gengsta - 7/27/2003 9:55:18 PM This new method works well for all the numbers I have crunched, Staffa's, Rays, yours, and Otakun's. No point with ricbayers.Make blocksTake sqrt (no rounding no truncating)Degrade (truncation)Sum
Also works for the ones I've crunched today: Code Monkey, Dave Javan, m_rock01, and TorchMaster. This looks good.
:SURPRISED: BRAVO STAFFA!!! Brilliant Maneuver! :CONGRAT:
The best explanation is that there are more detailed time stamps hidden in the metaverse database. If that is so, the data only rules out my theory and fixed 31-day blocks.
I have yet to see anything that rules out my theory: Blocks are 30 days not counting the day of submission. In other words: 0-30 days old, 31-60 days old, 61-90 days old, 91-120 days old, etc. This meshes well with T-Man's explanation from the score submission problems thread: [q
Right now blocks are my primary concern. Torchmaster @ 16 (player page score): 70% 4/15 4 4/16 2 4/19 2 4/24 3 4/25 159 Sum:170 Sqrt:76 Degrade:53.2 80% 4/27 210 5/21 77 5/21 9 5/21 4 5/23 16 5/23 4 5/23 5 Sum:325 Sqrt:123 Degrade:98.4 90% 6/8 929 6/13 5180 6/18 233 Sum:6342 Sqrt:3662 Degrade:3295.8 100% 7/25 117 Sum:117 Sqrt:117 Degrade:117
Have you run my score yourself yet? If I have made a mistake I am more likely to make it again. I agree its not rounding...I'm thinking there is a combination or something like round one step truncate the other.
- 30 and 31 days (depends on month of submission and adjusted per last submission in individual blocks... well Ray's submissions don't have a distinction here)4/3 to 4/26 - 9 games4/27 to 5/27 - 11 games5/28 to 6/26 - 12 games6/27 to 7/27 - 16 games
I agree with the game distribution, but I would say 4/28-5/27.
#55 by Citizen KitWarrior - 7/27/2003 9:16:21 PM IceMole and Gengsta,I'm going to end up pulling my hair out if I try to calculate scores while this block question is unresolved. Which one do y'all think it is?
Sorry, KitWarrior! Seems my research was directed only toward disproving a direct calendar relationship. It's taking time for me to work with Gengsta's stuff. Hopefully we will get this worked out soon.
