Two actually. I've not been reading the forum for a week so if these have already been posted, sorry. Here goes: The first one involves a new twist on an old bug. You know the disappearing ships? Now I've got disappearing planets. The same fix works - just save, quit, restart. The second one: As long as your money holds out, you can purchase an infinite number of social improvements on the same planet. For instance, I found a purple star smack in

Just cause I ran across this today: C: "I've got it! We'll call our club G.R.O.S.S - Get Rid of Slimy GirlS! That way, Susie Derkins can't join!" H: "Is she slimy?" C: "ALL girls are slimy. Now the first order of business is to elect officers." H: "I get to be president! I get to be president!" C: "Oh, No you don't! This whole club was MY idea so I get to be president." H: "Ok, then I get to be King and Tyrant." C: "H

Well, any 5 except HG. I didn't notice HG's score before, gotta show proper respect. :) Not that metaverse scores mean a whole lot now that it is so hideously unbalanced from version to version, but it at least gives an idea. Actually, they're starting to not mean anything.

#215 by Citizen PontiusBruinPilot - 5/15/2003 8:17:54 PM You need to join up. Cant do much indifferent obliterating alone now can you? ---------- Actually, I do about as much obliteration as you, Eb, and Coffee added together - or pick any five of your non-senators. (If you just go by raw metaverse score) So I do alright. As much as I admire the C&H reference (do the senators get to wear newspaper hats???), I'm still waiting and watching to see if GROSS is

Once upon a time I was flying two little frigates up on some "training procedures" near the Arcaen space when I get this message about them finding some precurser corvettes. Then, next turn, the Drengin demanded something like all my planets, tech, ships, bases, and money as tribute. I refused, Drengin declared war, Arcaens sent me a message that since I was picking on the Drengins, they're going to do the monkey-stomp on my head. Then a stack of 99. Yes, Ninety-nine little yellow

Oh yeah, another Painful+ AI strat: 3) Seems like the aliens always are warring with someone. This strat requires 2 of your more powerful ships and 1 constructor. Park the 2 ships outside the resource starbase of a civ you can't afford to go to war with, but still need to chip away. Park the constructor on the other side of their resource starbase. Jump to diplo, find out who is at war with the owner of the starbase, and then _give_ your ships to them. (This will buy you some be

Hey, I'm watching and waiting Pontius. But, you know, if I'm going to " 'Consider joining' " GROSS, I have to work on my mouthing off skills. Right? It'll be good to see you hang an evil win on your scoreboard. I remember reading something about a minimum of 5 required. Was that to join or to lead? Stick with 1.31, you'll get puffier scores that way. 1.35A just isn't worth it. (Here's hope for 1.4) I have this image of a bunch of little dudes all stacked up like a totem

I've found that if I change their alignments from Pure to Chaotic, they tend to care less what alignment you are. I'm Pure Evil and they're Chaotic Good? No problem, we'll roast the infidels together.

Man, I wish they would re-run all the scores. My climb up the metaverse ladder is hitting the glass ceiling of people who are still sitting fat on cotton-candy scores from v. 1.31 and earlier. :notsure: And yeah, I do play for the metaverse. I would've lost interest in the end-game repetition weeks ago if it weren't for the metaverse goading me to keep pushing the AI up. As it is now, Tropico 2 and The Guild are gathering dust on my desk. Hm... pirates. . .

My naming list: MATTONIA - used to be Sol DAVONIA - main military production system After that: Woremed, Glory, Jondd, Shoot, Shoot, New Shoot, Ferr, Enlie, Hepa, Jadul, KalManDaa, Lafser, Sosai (you get serious cool points if you know where those systems come from) Then: Heinlein, Lazarus, Lorelai, Lapus Lazuli (and so on)

Here's what you do, Runne. This is a little program I call Hostile Anti-social Personality Permanent partY - or H.A.P.P.Y. for short. You send out over the Entertainment and News Networks that you're going to hold a planet-wide news conference and every dissenter will get a voice. Then park a colony ship or a combat transport ship outside your office. Have them all get inside the ship (for the conference) and then send them off into space. Detonate the colony ship, shown

Small ponds are good. Takes more than a version 1.0 and a dozen Simple/Small games to join, much less lead. Though they're good for rank, right Cap'n Zero? Check your universal translator, Pon, I said I would "consider." You talk an evil game, but I still am waiting to see some scores. Talk is easy.

See, I don't know, Gordeleth. I can suspend realism easily enough for the purposes of a strategy game. Tidals, Core-det, Mass Drive. . these are all expensive and drastic attacks. _Something_ should happen, even if the ground war loses. "The first wave is your vangard, and making sure they cause as much havoc as possible. . " Definitely. So, if I spend a thousand to Mess Stuff Up, then something should be messed up. Where it becomes cheese is when you can use these d
