What I said is that if you like Dota you'll PROBABLY like Demigod. Similarly, if you like Master of Orion, you'll probably like Galactic Civilizations. Naturally, at the end of the GalCiv betas we had plenty of Master of Orion fans telling us how terrible GalCiv was because it wasn't enough like MOO.

Please, please give the host option to make everyone run the game on lowest settings. I think most of time its people who have shitty comps think they can run it on highest settings and it just lags everyone.
You know that's a pretty interesting idea. I wonder how hard it would be to do that.
Thanks. I figure that after release, we can look at all kinds of cool stuff for the future. But Demigod's success (as a game) is going to be based off the current game. And its success as a product will hinge on making sure it's a reliable multiplayer experience.
Investigating.
Since it's become a general vent your frustrations thread, I'm tired of the "the full version is much better than what you're testing" caveat to all posts by Brad recently. .
I've never said the full version will be "much better" than what you're testing. Let me be clear: If you hate beta 3D you will hate the final version too. But looking at the overall feedback we've gotten, I think we have good reason to f
By the time you get Sim speed, you're in the game.
I hate to be evil but I think we're going to have to do more about those playing online who have really marginal systems. Because of the real-time nature, the game will run at the speed of the slowest player. :(
What happens when you try to run?
DalzK" reply="4" id="2098192"]still lol @ Stardock getting upstaged by Chirmaya
How is Stardock getting upstaged? First, we don't code that kind of thing. Secondly, if something can be done with a mod that requires little effort then that's awesome.
Glad you like it! Enjoy it while you can though, in the released version, you won't get all bots like you currently do. We currently force in bots in order to test out the back-end infrastructure. The single player AI in the final game will be even better. Beta 3C does not have the updated AI we have internally and it's been really fun watching them progress. I think the biggest thing I've noticed is that now the AI seems to be aware of other Demigods on its teams and use
The good news is that after release the updates should be less than 30MB in size.
Thanks guys! Actually for Elemental we plan to add a 4th beta so that we can have the beta even earlier. Beta 1: Game Mechanics Test (Spring) Beta 2: Engine Test (Summer) Beta 3: Multiplayer Test (Fall) Beta 4: Balance/Fun/Tweak Test (TBD) So Beta 1 of Elemental would hide the main graphics engine and force beta testers to play on the cloth map for the entire game just to see if the game is fun played as a board game.
It's a hot topic here too I can assure you. My personal quick fix suggestion is that generals should get more money and then as soon as it's politically (marketing-wise) feasible you eliminate assassins and generals and rebalance them as one thing where everyone can buy minions and such. The minions are very useful if you know what you're doing.

Ralsar - Slaughter is randomly picked in the Pantheon. The change was for the single player tournament.
I like this. You know, I think this could be possibly done without having to change Demigod. We'd have to make a custom Pantheon launcher or something. Let me thik.
Sorry, I updated it and Live Writer changed the category. Just fixed.
TheBigOne: The point of this thread is to discuss proposed changes so that we can make sure we don't make mistakes. If you want to have influence, you would do yourself a huge favor by not implying that your opinion is a fact or insulting my knowledge of the game. It is certainly possible that I may be mistaken on a particular value that a given item provides but it does not affect the validity of the change request. My job is to try to make the game as fun as po
Great!
I can say that we have 2 planned but we want to wait until after release to see how the game is played in "the real world" so that we can add Demigods that balance out a team better.

Thanks. We're feeling pretty good about Demigod at this point. I have a short list of things left that need to be done for the release date: #1 More graceful handling of disconnects. #2 Continue to improve connectivity. Luckily, there's a lot of time for that. I remember only 2 weeks ago someone saying that the connectivity is so bad that there's no way we'd ever nail it. I think now, most users (Based on what I see on the chat channel) have no prob
No offense but you do realize it's always the same handful of guys always making complaints about theoretical problems in the game but have very few minutes logged into actually playing. (I'm not referring to Fire-Irce) Anyone who's seriously tried a mass Regulus or mass whatever and knows what they're doing is going to tell you that it's a lot less effective than say a team that combines Torch Bearer, Unclean Beast, The Rook, and QoT. I understand there's nothing we
There's a tiny update 0.92.025 up that fixes a crashing problem we found.
If it doesn't, let me know. I checked your account it everything looks right.
