The plan is to have Impulse Phase 3 take care of it: In game overlays.

We're switching things over to beta 3.
Still working on it. Pain.
Greetings! Tomorrow February 19th we plan to release beta 3 of Demigod. Before I discuss what to expect, let's walk through where we've been so far. BETA 1: September 2008. The first beta focused purely on the engine. In many respects, you could have called it an alpha. It was designed to get a scope of the performance, test out the engine features (fog of war, particle effects, shaders, Demigod models, etc.). It was expl
I tend to think we shoudl look at leavers in the sense of what % of the time does someone leave? I'll leave a game if it's laggy. But some people are chronic leavers. We would need to come up with a % threshold on leaving and then flag that user if they're a chronic leaver.
Nuts. So we're keeping the Idols, for now at least. Thanks for responding though, now we know what to expect. It's always good to know the Devs are listening and open to ideas. If nothing else comes from this thread, this is a perfect illustration of why modding is going to be so important to the long term health of this game. We already have talented modders from SupCom tweaking DG, and ideas like Random's are li
I think there are some very interesting ideas here but a lot of the changes are far too radical at this stage even if I totally agreed with the ideas (and I don't, I would need to see how these ideas played out in a cuople of betas). Personally, I can think of lots of things in any game (whether it be Supreme Commander, Company of Heroes, etc.) that I could imagine could have been done differently or even better. Demigod is no different. The current game mechanic for Ge

This is System lag! 3fps when I play along against the AI on lowest settings is unacceptable, considering I was getting such great performance in previous builds on HIGH settings.
Which is some incompatibilty with your particular system and Demigod which you know we are looking into so posting about it is rather futile.
Generals * Fewer minions that are a lot tougher. * 1st level minions can only have 2 of with you. * 2nd level minions can only have 4 of them with you. * 3rd level minions can have 4 of them with you. * Generals should do less damage in battle. (the Oak, for instance, starts out doing like 150 damage per second). If you do this, generals will be far weaker early game. Many people c
Rankings won't start to happen until the Beta 3 series. That's when balancing and such starts to get very serious. The Beta 2 series is totally about the net connectivity and figuring out different ways to break it.
Chill. It's a beta. If you want things to always work right, quit playing and wait for the final release. It's not like anyone could tell that the NAT negotiator was going to get flakey once hundreds of people were on. That's the point of the public beta in the first place.
The NAT negotiator is still getting corrupted or something. They're working on it.
Sounds like someone should try the game options.. ;)
I tend to agree with much of this. What are your thoughts on how you would prefer it to be?
We're investigating. Wonder if it's a Geforce thing. What's the date of your drivers?
I look forward to the patching update to Impulse.
I'd say the game is up to a 7 out of 10 (up from 6 out of 10 in beta 2C). Connectivity is better. Balance and pacing needs a lot of work. But this build is semi-fun now. I think we'll be in a position to get Beta 3 released in a state where people will start to say "Ahh okay, I get it. This IS awesome!" I'm going to work on a long report.

And I know what what you mean Phinor, I noticed it to: Entrenchment: Shopprice: 9.95 USD In Cart: 7.95 GBP Paypal: 13.63 USD My bank account: 10.13 EUR <
Quoting Frogboy, reply 4Stardock games sold digitally: One Price. One World. Not entirely true. In case of Demigod the price was the same, but when I bought Entrenchment, I had to pay couple of euros more than the cost was in $USD. Now couple of euros isn't much, but when you put it into perspective, 20-30% more...
I'm not sure what you mean.

Basically questions someone who is just learning about Demigod would want to know. I want to write up a FAQ list for IGN.
If you guys could think of 20 questions that someone might want answered about Demigod what would they be?
I agree. Minions need to stay tough later in the game. I would imagine late game minions are almost as powerful as 1st level Demigods.
there definitely won't be a beta 3 today but we are working on a beta 2D.
