That sounds really counterintuitive. Most likely an overlooked bug.
Clearly this debate cannot be settled by mere arguments or valid points. The only way to resolve this conflict is through the BATTLE OF TRUTH.
And not just any battle of truth. A 1v1 battle of truth...in a team game.
GPG is the bigger problem than SD, imo. SD has, despite their missteps, put it great effort to fix many of the problems with the game. GPG has been very slow to live up to their promises and also to fix or balance nearly anything in the game.
Well, something is OP if a less skilled player wins against a more skille player consistently with a uncounterable tactic. Agree?
On average, yes.
So it can be easily proven, no blah blah blah about data.
You need the data to show that on average, less skilled players win against more skilled players consistently. Agree?
The only way to gather data regarding the supposed OP-ness of doubles is to permit their usage
Actually, the idea of "doubles" being imbalanced can be technically "proven"
It would require much data. Data that no one has gathered. Data that is not a screenshot of a game where you beat some doubles team. I'm not saying it's not possible, but don't pretend like any of us have access to the metrics that we would need to assert an verifiable conclusion.
Those who say doubles r Ok have explained in many different ways why its ok, proven, over and over again that there is no problem.
No one has "proven" anything, other than the fact that people will do what they want to do.
Wow GasPowered games is REALLY working hard on getting us new content and patches WOO I can hardly keep up with all of these changes and patches that keep FLYING by.
sarcasmoverwhelming Cheat enabled!
how could one alone be so stupid like the op. i really do not get this.
You do, but it doesn't appear that you know it.
You're assuming equal skill, which is not apparently the case given the records.....
I have a question about games listed as "noobs only" type games. I'm an experienced player, and often I want to join one of those games to help noobs if is can; even if it's just me and 3 AIs vs 4 noobs, I'd do it to help. But do noobs "want" people like me in their games, or do they just want "All Noobs" only?

ShouldIjoin(myskill, game_title) { if (game_title ~= m/Noobs only/) {
man i wish noobs would shut up mudzis is a good example if u dont even know how to put a avatar pic then your a iddiot
I would think typing illegible sentences would make one an idiot....
They avoided the whole nice thread I wrote on autoattack bugs, this is no different.
"Testing balance" lol
Excellent reply, actually. However, do you think that is the norm?
Given there's been exactly 2 changes so far for balance, it seems to be.
The "reasonable" level of play is not the same as perfect play, but nearly synonomous with "high level" play.
Why? It seems more reasonable to expect the level of play that a reasonable majority of the audience will possess.
Also, it would help if you wouldn't leave out the last setence when quoting me.
Likewise. Anyways I didn't do it because it didn't flow directly into the point I was making, so I left it out in the interest
Anyways: just because something is counterable, doesn't make it balanced. Theres an element of reasonability here. Expecting people to be able to play at a certain level is reasonable.
Exactly. I love it when people come around. And the reasonable level of play is the level of play you'd reasonably expect most of your players are playing at. Hint: It's not the top 5%. Think Bell curve.
Instant kill moves are impossible to balance because they have to have such incredible drawbacks, inefficiencies, and/or unlikelyhoods. As such, what you are describing would be a problem of balance in general, not a problem of balancing to the highest level.
But yet it's still perfectly counterable. You'd take no damage at all if you just moved out of the way. It's not the game's problem, according to you.
Could you give an example, please?
Heart of Life...?
they really take a long time but even if both teams are careful and never die, they can still smash the enemies with giants... (yes i know the cit does loads of damage when attacked but in late-game with strong creeps you can easily overcome it)
Uh...and this is different from normal conquest how then?
Are u serious u don't agree with SoFFacet in this explicit point? If the game is balanced for the "bad player", as he mention, there wont be advanced tactics for the expert players, I guess, at least.
Yes I disagree that you should be balancing *exclusively* for the uber gosus. Things that are imbalanced for the common player can be fixed without disrupting the "elite" gameplay.
Every game is based on counters, and developing strategie
No, No, No, No . If bad players can't counter something that is in fact perfectly counter-able, its not the game's problem.
Not true either. Consider a ninth Demigod who had an ability that fired a moderate-speed projectile at an targeted place on the ground while painting a huge bullseye on the spot. This projectile if it hit any Demigod at the target location would kill it instantly. Balanced? Of course you say, because any goo
that's a funny one... reason
His RAM isn't as big as his ego.
The second most heard objection is that it is unfun, but even if the number of abilities is decreased the number of available tactics and strategies can increase.
I don't see how.
Well personally I didn't like dota and I don't view it as a seperate game, which is what I was getting at. If you're a big dota fan you're pobably going to disagree, but when I think of dota, tides of blood, etc. those are still just wc3 maps in my mind, not seperate games which merit distinction from wc3 on mechanics they didn't even change.
As someone who has played significant amounts of Dota and WC3 I can say absolutely that you are wrong, but if you haven't p
The mechanic was a WC3 mechanic that they had no reason to change.
They could have set minions to give 1 exp and 1 gold if that was needed for balance. It wasn't, quite the opposite.
