Thank you.

I'm downloading off a dialup and just want to know how much time I need to alot for downloading.
I wish it had the "any which way you can" choice, too. I'll buy it.
I'm Harry Seldon on both sites. ~SDC~
If anyone gives you guff about "buggy" products, have them whip together a survey and send it to your registered players. We'll send it back in and firmly rebuff that theory. Long live Stardock! :CONGRAT:
Maybe they should create a new party for it, like a Shadow Government x-files style.
2. Sometimes when a ship wins combat that ship's experience level will drop instead of rise, often markedly (had one drop by about half a bar earlier today). I've seen this 3 times now, but no clue as to what triggers it. I've had this happen too with an event Ranger. Dropped from eight to six after leaving a star system to attack another ship only to have it jump to seven after the fight.
I attacked the Torians last night, who were also being attacked by the Drengins. I took a Torian planet that the Drengins were attacking and they just kept attacking me. I got no declaration, no notice, just a hundred drengin dreadnaughts tearing through my planets. I was on Friendly terms at the time so I don't understand what happened. This may not be a bug but I thought it may be worth reporting.
I was playing latest patch last night and noticed: 1. I had a planet close to defecting and had the skull and crossbones icon on the star. I bought News Network, entertainment net, and research lab then attacked the only alien controlled civ in the sector and overtook it. My skull never disappeared. It stayed all the way through the rest of the game, ~150 turns. 2. Late in the game, I can't see ships, starbases, or techs from the diplomacy screen. The side sliders are there but
I usually get popped with a morale loss follwing a change of government that takes a few turns to overcome. I generally try to get most of my planets to a 55-60% approval rating before switching.
Or just vote it into someone else's territory altogether. Same with the galactic prison. Make sure it's as far away from you as possible.
I had the I-league come up and wipe out almost every race in twenty turns. Twenty turns! I was killing everyone and couldn't keep up with one of their planets. :sniff!:
It also happens when you look at module descriptions when adding to a starbase.
I can usually get a point or two with a loss. I lost this weekend to the I-League (from one planet to domination in twenty turns by military conquest) by surrendering to the Altarians and still got 2 mpts. I didn't upload it because I didn't want to wreck my average. I didn't think about the AI issue. Couldn't you assume that if you lost to the AI that its present strategy is sound enough for your style? You would have to better your tactics the next game for a win. I would think it's more impor
I was sending around 3000 pop per ship.
I was suprised about that. I had a late game event that increased planet quality by eight classes for two parsecs in every direction. I frantically built colony ships and sent them out, picking up around seven new planets. Some of them had a morale of 1. I thought this was a bug and would correct itself the next turn but it didn't. I had pulled many of my colonists off level 25+ planets and put them on 15-20's. I guess that'd peeve anyone.
Out of curiousity, what type of government are you using? The initial government type is easier to mantain morale in; I usually don't switch to newer forms of government right away because of it.
Is there a way to use SDC to just download the patched files? I have the bonus pack already; surely the 1.01a patch isn't 80 megs.
I don't know about opposing parties, although I could guess. I can't think of a time I won a Senate vote when I was in the red unless I was making massive strides financially each turn and was already under -200 on the way back up.
I've had mine sit at 2 months for twenty turns. Are you at war with anyone? I was, and when I made peace with them within the next five turns I had the cultural victory.
I have the same problem but I may have a solution. I think I'm spending too much money for social improvements. I generally spend time in the hole but come out of it after a few dozen turns without too much of a disadvantage. What kills me is not having a decent fleet and having to purchase ships for defense or running into cultural influence and having to drop everything to build resistance. I have yet to beat a game on subnormal but I can usually survive the expansion phase only to be crushed
Make sure you're not losing money as well. The moment you go negative, you can bet either the Merchantile or the Federalists will win the next election. I've noticed that the party that usually wins the election is a good indication of what you need to focus on in preparation for the next. If Merchantile wins, try building up your trade. If War wins, spend more time building ships.
Check Brad's new thread at the top of the forum. He says there are fixes on the way. I downloaded the betas for them and they look alright. I still can't upload my scores. I don't think it's a problem with names; I've reregistered mine eight times now and it doesn't do any good. It looks like you're on a dialup. So am I. You're going to have to Alt-Tab out of the summary screen before you hit Done and connect to the internet. After you do this you'll get the option to send. I started a few threa
I downloaded the new files to fix some of the problems with diplomacy and Metaverse. I'm still crashing regularly at the diplomacy screen. This happens most often with the Arceans and the Yor Collective. I'm also getting crushed by minor races. How in the world can they manufacture so fast?
Connecting first does get me the submit screen but my scores don't upload. Well, at least my problem is the same as everyone else's now. ;)
